Terms and conditions
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Protobase Cloud: the console at admin.protobase.net and the apps it hosts for you. Please read them before you sign up.
1. Who we are
Protobase Cloud is provided by RIJX B.V., registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 87965690, at Zinkstraat 24, 4823AD Breda, the Netherlands (“we”, “us”).
For help with the service, email [email protected]. For anything else, email [email protected].
2. What these terms cover
- Protobase Cloud: the console at admin.protobase.net, sign-in at auth.protobase.net, and the apps it hosts on protobase.net.
- Not the open-source Protobase framework. It is published under the Apache License 2.0, and that license applies when you use it, including when you run it on your own servers.
3. Early access
- Protobase Cloud is in early access. Sign-up is open, and the service may still change.
- Payments are not switched on yet, so nothing is charged during early access. The prices and credit rules on the pricing page are the ones that will apply once payments start.
4. Your account
- You sign up with GitHub or with your email address. Keep your sign-in details safe: you are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can share a workspace with others through an organization. Owners and admins decide who is a member and which role each member has.
5. Your apps and your data
- Your apps’ data and code are yours. Each app has its own Postgres database, and its code can live in your own GitHub repository.
- You are responsible for what you store in your apps and for the people you let use them. If an app holds personal data of other people, you decide what it holds and why.
- We store and process your apps’ data to run Protobase Cloud for you.
- Protobase staff can sign in to your app as one of its users only to help, with a permission of their own, a written reason and a recent second factor. Each staff sign-in is logged, your app shows a banner while it lasts, and your app’s admins can switch staff access off.
6. The AI assistant
- The assistant plans each change with a price and runs it only after you approve it. It cannot approve, spend credits or deploy by itself.
- Every change has to pass typecheck, tests, the build and protobase doctor before it deploys, but checks cannot catch everything. Review what you approve and accept.
- Database changes the assistant applied stay live, even when the rest of its task fails.
7. Plans and credits
- Each plan has a monthly price and monthly credits, as shown on the pricing page. There are no free or sign-up credits: an account gets its plan’s monthly credits.
- Unused monthly credits roll over, up to three months’ worth.
- Credits you buy never expire, and unused ones are refunded if you close your account.
- If a change fails its own checks, the retries are free.
8. Fair use
- Do not use Protobase Cloud to break the law, to harm others, to send spam, or to attack or overload the service or other people’s apps.
- We may suspend an account or app that breaks these terms.
9. Ending
- You can stop using Protobase Cloud at any time. To close your account and have its data deleted, email [email protected].
10. Liability
- Protobase Cloud is in early access and is provided as it is.
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit or lost data.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top.
12. Law
These terms, and any contract with us, are governed by Dutch law.
