    With GitHub, or with your email address and a six-digit code.

    Pick an address

    Choose the address of your workspace.

    Pick a first app

    The ERP with its base data, the real estate app, or an empty project that the assistant’s first change deploys.

    Choose where the code lives

    A new private GitHub repository, an existing empty one, or with Protobase only.

    Open your app

    It deploys in a few minutes and opens with you already signed in.

Every app

What every app gets

  • Its own database

    PostgreSQL 18 with a least-privilege role of its own, through PgBouncer. An optional public endpoint uses verified TLS.

  • A hardened container

    A read-only image, no root, no extra capabilities, limits on memory, CPU and processes, and no traffic between apps.

  • Its own address

    An address on protobase.net, the app’s name plus six random characters, with TLS.

  • Email that arrives

    Mail sent from the app’s own host name, signed with DKIM and covered by SPF and DMARC. Password resets and sign-up codes work from the start.

  • Files and maps

    A private and a public file bucket per app, with downloads straight from the bucket, and world map tiles.

  • Quick to open

    The admin app is served without waking the app. On Starter an idle app sleeps and starts again on the next request; Pro and Business apps are never stopped for being idle.

Your code

In your GitHub repository, if you want it there

  • Start from the ERP, the real estate app, an empty project or an existing GitHub repository.
  • Every push to a linked repository deploys, and the platform keeps the app in sync with it.
  • Builds run in throwaway containers with the same protobase build you can run yourself, and apps run on the published runtime image.
  • Your app’s own users can sign in with GitHub through the platform.

Updates

Protobase updates, on your schedule

  • Apps built with Protobase 0.12 or later get patch releases by switching the runtime: no rebuild and no commit.
  • Other updates are rebuilt for you by an update job.
  • You choose when: right away (the default), weekly at a day and time, on a date you set, or by hand.
  • Admins see an Update button inside the app.

The assistant

Built in, and it waits for your approval

Ask for a change in the console or inside your app. The assistant shows a plan and a price, runs it only after you approve, and every change passes typecheck, tests, the build and protobase doctor before it deploys.

Everything about your apps in one place

When Protobase staff help inside your app, they need their own permission, a reason and a recent second factor. It is logged, your app shows a banner, and your app’s admins can turn staff access off.
